Genogram

Online genogram maker

This is a genogram editor that runs in the browser. There is nothing to install, no desktop licence, and no account required to start — open a blank diagram, add people, and the layout arranges itself as you go.

It draws standard notation rather than generic shapes, which is the difference between a genogram tool and a diagramming tool pointed at families. Partnerships, parent-child links and the full emotional-relationship vocabulary are all first-class: you pick the relationship, and the correct stroke is drawn for you. Nothing has to be styled by hand to be correct.

Layout is the part that usually makes people give up on general-purpose diagram software. Families are not tidy — half-siblings, second marriages, adoptions and a cousin who married back into the family all break a simple tree. Here the arrangement is handled for you, and a Tidy command re-flows the diagram after any change.

Building and saving are free: an account keeps 25 diagrams, each with unlimited people. Export, shareable view links and API access are on the paid plan, and the price is on the pricing page rather than hidden behind a sign-up.

If you are new to the notation, the symbols reference explains every stroke, and the library has finished genograms you can open and edit rather than starting from an empty canvas.
